She was employed by Burlington Industries for nearly 20 years. Upon its closing, she then became employed by Glenn Raven Mills until she retired to care for her mother. While caring for her mother, she became a certified CNA.
She touched the lives of many children as a loving foster care parent. Her door was always open to anyone in need. She was a lifelong member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. During that time, she served on the Usher Board, Women's Auxiliary, the Golden Hearts and a helper with the Shepherd's Table just to mention a few.
